How do you use a sharpening steel?
Why a sharpening steel?
If your knife is already in good condition, you can sharpen it a bit with a honing steel. You run the knife along the honing rod before cutting. With a honing steel, you don't sharpen; you simply align the blade's microparticles, sharpening the whole thing.
Simple and fast
Sharpen your knife quickly with a sharpening rod. A sharpening rod removes a relatively large amount of steel from your knife in a single pass. If you were to sharpen your knife every day with a sharpening rod, there would be very little left of your knife.
Sharpening is fun!
Cutting with a dull knife is never fun. With a sharpening rod, your dull kitchen knife will be sharp again in no time – a pleasure to watch and experience!
